HMF Through Four Decades

We recently had the pleasure of meeting Jørgen Helbo from Bendt Hansen in Risskov on a sunny day at HMF’s headquarters in Højbjerg. Jørgen has been working with HMF cranes for nearly 40 years — and always with a smile on his face! He has only used other crane brands for a few short periods during his career, but he has always returned to HMF because as he puts it: “Why would I switch when HMF just works?

Today, Jørgen operates a brand-new setup featuring a 2820 model, which he’s had for two and a half months. It was built in Galten, and according to him, this crane is the best model out there.

The crane’s power is put to good use — Jørgen handles everything from grabs and pallet forks to straps, primarily serving bricklayers, carpenters, and landscapers in Aarhus and the surrounding area. One of his latest projects involved transporting 540 tons of sand to playgrounds across Horsens — a task that demands both precision and strength. With a truck bed that can carry 16 tons at a time and a fixed-mounted crane for maximum power and flexibility, Jørgen is well equipped for the job.

Jørgen highlights how much he values the precision of HMF cranes, an essential feature when the work calls for accuracy. His truck is even custom-built to carry 20-foot containers and is fitted with side tipping on both sides — a clear sign that we’re dealing with a highly experienced professional.

At HMF, we truly value the close dialogue we have with crane operators like Jørgen. With nearly 40 years of experience, his feedback is invaluable. He regularly shares input directly with our workshop and never hesitates to suggest improvements — both for his own crane and for HMF’s solutions in general.

It’s this kind of collaboration that enables us to develop solutions that create real value for the people who use our cranes every day.

Thank you, Jørgen, for the great conversation and for being such an important part of the HMF community — we look forward to many more lifts together!
