An exciting first build for Day Brothers

At HMF we're not afraid to take on challenging tasks. This time around it was Day Brothers who had an exciting assignment ready for our cranes.

Day Brothers' first HMF crane

At HMF we love to take on exciting and challenging crane tasks. This time around it was the British company, Day Brothers, who had an exciting assignment ready for our cranes.

Day Brothers of Colney Heath are traditional coal merchants that have been family run across three generations. They have recently taken delivery of their first ever HMF crane – though hopefully not the last.

This has been a very exciting build for HMF to be involved in. We had to ensure that the crane could carry out all of Day Brothers multiple tasks from collecting felled trees, delivering coal and seasoned logs and delivering structural steels from local business to new build projects in London.

The perfect match

The HMF 1420-K2 turned out to be the perfect tool for Day Brothers to carry out this wide variety of work. This is especially due to the 1420K’s:

  • Internal hose system which eliminates damage when collecting bulk timber.

  • Flexible stability system (EVS) as the truck will often make deliveries in residential areas where space is an issue.
  • PGV32 Valve block for smooth operation, which is vital for delivering and installing structural steels.

The customer’s requirements are always the focus of HMF and has also been it throughout this project. We hope to see many more HMF cranes join Day Brothers’ fleet in the future and that this traditional British business will continue for many more generations to come.
